Newark Firefighters Pipe Band
Link to the home of the Newark Firefighters Pipe Band, the only all city fire department band in the State of New Jersey. The band was founded on ethnic diversity and is made up of active and retired Newark firefighters that share the Tradition, Honor and Pride of the over 200 year old Newark Fire Department. The band has represented our city and department at various functions throughout the tri-state area. The band is self supporting. They rely on proceeds from fundraisers, private functions and parades to meet expenses.

Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing
Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing is the publishing house of the Newark Fire Department Oral History Project. The goal of the Newark Fire Department Oral History Project is to record the views and experiences of members of the Newark, New Jersey Fire Department. The period of focus is 1942 to the present. Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing was started for the sole purpose of preserving the experiences of Newark's bravest and through them the history of the Newark Fire Department by publishing works based on the Oral History Project.

Dr. Harry R. Carter, MIFireE, CFO, is an internationally-known municipal fire protection consultant, author, lecturer, and veteran fire officer. The Los Pinos Fire Protection District provides fire suppression and emergency medical services to a 325 square mile area of Southwest Colorado. The Fire District encompasses portions of LaPlata and Archulata Counties, and includes the communities of Oxford, Tiffany, Allison, Arbolies, and the Town of Ignacio. A substantial portion of the District consists of Southern Ute Tribal Lands, Bureau of Land Management property, territory belonging to the U.S. Forest Service, Division of Wildlife areas, and land owned by the State of Colorado.

Its partners, Rick “Uncle Rickie” Apgar and his trusted sidekick, Hugo “Stud-Muffin” Arreola (see Buddy Shots #4) bring over 50 years firefighting and sales experience to the company with one mission statement: “Superior Customer Service!” After working for an out of state company, it became apparent to the boys that the the firefighters in the New Mexico and El Paso territories deserved better treatment from their suppliers.
