Shooting/Structure Fire - 07/04/10 - Sullivan Road, NM

San Juan County firefighters and San Juan Regional paramedics were called to the 500 block of County Road 7007 in the early morning hours of July 4th for reports of a gunshot victim. Shortly after the dispatch responding units were advised that a mobile home in the area had been set on fire. When it was all said and done, two people had been killed, two other suffered gunshot wounds, and two more had other traumatic injuries.

One of the gunshot victims was transported by Air Care 1 to San Juan Regional Medical Center. The other injured were transported by ground ambulance. Due to the possible presence of an active shooter, fire units were staged outside of the scene and the structure was allowed to burn to the ground. Because of limited access to the scene, my photographs were few. Responding fire units included San Juan County Fire Districts #9, #6, and #11. The fire in the destroyed structure was later investigated by the San Juan County Fire Investigation Task Force.
