Crews were dispatched to a duplex home at 2509 North Harding Street at approximately 08:45 hours. When they arrived, heavy smoke was pushing from the 2-story wood-frame structure. Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately 35 minutes, before they could bring it under control. One firefighter injured his left ankle and was transported to Methodist Hospital for evaluation. All the residents were able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the IFD Arson Unit.
