Structure Fire - 01/18/08 - Lee Acres, NM

Just before noon on January 18th, 2008 San Juan County Fire’s District #6 (Lee Acres) was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at #2 County Road 5474. Units arrived to find smoke coming from the underside of the mobile home at that address.

Firefighters removed the skirting from around the trailer to facilitate the fire attack. Once access was gained underneath the structure, firefighters had the fire knocked down in short order. Mutual aid was provided by the Bloomfield Fire Department and SJCFD District #8 (Hart Valley). While the heat tape used to keep the mobile home’s pipes from freezing is suspected to have contributed to the fire cause, the incident is under investigation by the San Juan County Fire Marshal’s Office.
