Newark, NJ Fire Sites
  • Newark Firefighters Pipe Band
    Link to the home of the Newark Firefighters Pipe Band, the only all city fire department band in the State of New Jersey. The band was founded on ethnic diversity and is made up of active and retired Newark firefighters that share the Tradition, Honor and Pride of the over 200 year old Newark Fire Department. The band has represented our city and department at various functions throughout the tri-state area. The band is self supporting. They rely on proceeds from fundraisers, private functions and parades to meet expenses.
  • Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing
    Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing is the publishing house of the Newark Fire Department Oral History Project. The goal of the Newark Fire Department Oral History Project is to record the views and experiences of members of the Newark, New Jersey Fire Department. The period of focus is 1942 to the present. Springfield and Hunterdon Publishing was started for the sole purpose of preserving the experiences of Newark's bravest and through them the history of the Newark Fire Department by publishing works based on the Oral History Project.

  • NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program
    Each year an average of 105 fire fighters die in the line of duty. To address this continuing national occupational fatality problem, NIOSH conducts independent investigations of fire fighter line of duty deaths.
