- Structure Fire - 02/22/08 - Durango, CO
A structure fire and subsequent explosion destroyed three businesses in Durango’s historic downtown district and injured seven firefighters. On February 22nd, 2008 at approximately 13:40 hours the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority (DFRA) was dispatched to the Seasons Restaurant at 764 Main Avenue for a report of a fire on the roof. First arriving units encountered a fire above the restaurant’s ceiling. At 14:04 hours conditions began to deteriorate and DFRA Battalion Chief Mick Stowers, the Incident Commander, requested a recall of all off-duty firefighters.
- Structure Fire - 03/06/08 - Durango, CO
On March 6th, 2008 at approximately 4:51 pm, units from the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority (DFRA) were dispatched to the 49,000 block of Highway 550 for a report of a structure fire. Initial reports from dispatch indicated that fire and smoke were seen coming from a condo complex. First arriving units were confronted with a well developed fire that was extending into an attached unit.
- Structure Fire - 05/11/08 - Hart Valley, NM
On May 11th, 2008 just before 20:00 hours San Juan County Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house fire at #62 County Road 3320. Additional information from dispatch indicated that everyone had evacuated the structure.
- Structure Fire - 06/14/08 - Bloomfield, NM
Shortly past 11:00 PM on June 14th, 2008 the Bloomfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 400 block of North 4th Street. Units arrived to find smoke showing from a double wide mobile home at that location.
- Outside Fire - 06/15/08 - Lee Acres, NM
Just before noon on June 15th, 2008 San Juan County Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 5527 US 64, the Dollar Saver Store in Lee Acres. As District 6 and District 8 firefighters were responding, dispatch indicated that they had reports of something burning up against the front of the building.
- Vehicle Accident - 06/15/08 - Farmington, NM
On June 115th, 2008 at approximately 15:30 hours Engine Company 2 and Medic 5 were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 30th Street and East Main. Engine 2 arrived on scene and radioed that they had two vehicle MVA with two patients complaining of neck pain.
- Structure Fire - 06/17/08 - Durango, CO
On June 17th, 2008 at approximately 14:00 hours the Durango Fire and Rescue Authority (DFRA) was dispatched to a report of a barn fire in the area of the intersection of Highways 172 and 160. First arriving units were faced with a fully involved shed and fire rapidly spreading to a one-story house.
- Wildland Fire - 06/21/08 - Farmington, NM
What started out as an agriculture burn caused the evacuation of a Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) area of the City of Farmington. Shortly after 14:00 hours a large header of black smoke could be seen rising over Farmington’s west side.
- Shed Fire - 07/05/08 - Farmington, NM
At 02:01 hours on July 5th, 2008 Farmington Fire units were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 1700 North Mesa Verde Avenue. Units arrived to find a shed fire in the alley between North Mesa Verde Avenue and North Cochiti Avenue.
- Wildland Fire - 07/29/08 - Hesperus, CO
On July 29th, 2008 at approximately 13:00 hours, the Fort Lewis Fire District was dispatched to a report of a wildland fire in the area of the Vista de Oro subdivision off of County Road 117. The Vista Fire grew to approximately 36 acres and required a mutual aid response from the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority, the Los Pinos Fire District, the Upper Pine Fire District, the Mancos Fire Department, and the Farmington, NM Fire Department.
- Structure Fire - 10/24/08 - Flora Vista, NM
On October 24, 2008 at approximately 11:45 a.m., San Juan County Fire Units were clearing from a report of a vehicle fire in the 8000 block of Highway 516 when Fire Marshal Chris Cardin (CF-3), seeing a large column of smoke, came up on the dispatch frequency and asked if a burn permit had been issued in the area of County Road 3450 in Flora Vista.
