Brush Fire - 03/02/09 - Cedar Hill, NM

On March 2nd, 2009 at approximately 1500 hours, San Juan County Fire Department District 3 (Cedar Hill) was dispatched to a brush fire in the area of 257 County Road 2900. I happened to be traveling to Farmington that day and was across the river from that area on US 550 when the call was dispatched. A large plume of smoke was starting to dominate the afternoon sky as dispatch was giving reports that the fire was spreading to nearby trees. Mutual aid was called from District 7 (Center Point) and the Aztec Fire Department. The fire was contained to approximately 2 acres and required extensive mop-up.
