Fatal Vehicle Accident – 11/11/11 – Bayfield, CO

On November 11th, 2011 at approximately 1000 hours, Upper Pine Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident on the 3100 block of County Road 501. Units arrived to find three vehicles, a small SUV, a pick-up truck, and a four-door sedan involved in what appeared to be a high impact crash. The driver of the small SUV was killed in the crash.

The sedan became involved in the accident after the crash of the SUV and the pick-up truck. Both the driver of the sedan and pick-up were transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango. Fire units stood by while the accident was investigated by the Colorado State Patrol and the LaPlata County Coroner’s Office.
