Brush/Pallet Fire - 03/23/12 - Center Point, NM

On March 23rd, 2012 at 13:21 hours, San Juan County, NM firefighters were dispatched to a report of a brush fire at 15 County Road 2976. The afternoon winds had picked up, and dispatch reported that what had started out as a controlled burn had now extended to a stack of wooden pallets on the property. Firefighters from District 7 (Center Point) and District 2 (Flora Vista) kept the fire from extending shortly after their arrival. Captain David Vega, the SJCFD’s Wildland Fire Coordinator commanded the incident and had the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.
