Structure Fire - 01/24/13 - Orange, NJ

On January 23rd, 2013 @ 16:51 hours Orange, NJ Firefighters responded to a working fire at 199 Oakwood Avenue (cross street of Central Avenue). First arriving units were faced with a fire on Division #2 of a 2.5 wood frame dwelling. At the time, Northern New Jersey was in the grip of some of the coldest winter temperatures that had been seen in years. An aggressive attack resulted in a quick fire knockdown. At 17:03 hours companies were checking for extension, performing overhaul, as well as completing primary and secondary searches. Mutual aid companies responded to the scene and provided backfill at Orange Fire Headquarters. 25 minutes into the incident, Deputy Chief 3 reported that some minor fire extension had been taken care of and placed the fire under control.
