Structure Fire - 03/06/14 - Thurmont, MD

Firefighters from Frederick County’s Guardian Hose Company #10 extinguished a house fire on Thursday, March 6th, 2014 at 30 Water Street in Thurmont, according to Lieutenant David Barnes of the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services. The occupants of the home were displaced due to the damage.

At about 16:40 hours, crews responded to the scene, where they encountered flames in the rear of the two-story structure. Water Street was shut down in both directions while crews worked the incident, Barnes said. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from the Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg, as well as the Rocky Ridge, Lewistown, Walkersville, and Graceham Volunteer Fire Companies. The fire was contained to the first floor. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the County Fire Marshal's Office.
