This is another photo of “Pa” Buchholz. According to the back of the photo, the year was 1926 and it looks like it was taken at the Partington Home at 379 Millburn Avenue (two doors down from the firehouse). His hat badge has a single “bugle” on it, signifying the rank of Foreman. “Pa” served with the Millburn Fire Department from 1923 to 1960.

This satellite photo shows the location of the old fire headquarters at 375 Millburn Avenue (in the red rectangle) the white rectangle (definitely not to scale) shows the approximate location of the Partington Home at 379 Millburn Avenue. The address no longer exists, and is now additional parking for the current Town Hall.

This shot of John T. Partington also looks like it was taken in the yard at 379 Millburn Avenue. His hat badge has two crossed “bugles” on it. Although the year of this photo is unknown, John T. was the Deputy Chief of MFD's Volunteer Division.

Firefighter Don Aurnhammer at the Middlesex County Fire Academy on September 28th, 2005. Companies from Millburn, West Orange, and Montclair were participating in a Mutual Aid Training at the Middlesex facility.

John T. again, in the drivers seat of a 1925 American LaFrance Pumper Chemical & Motor Hose Car. According to his “Certificate of Exemption,” John met the requirements to become a State of New Jersey Exempt Fireman on November 11th of 1902.

A Pre-MFD shot of Don Aurnhammer (doing a Buffalo Head impersonation) in front of our house at 428 Millburn Avenue, prior to the start of one of Millburn’s Memorial Day Parades. Strangely enough, Mom Aurnhammer actually looks proud of him!

My Great-Uncle, John J. Partington (son of John T. Partington) served as the Chief of the Millburn Fire Department from 1961 to 1971.

This Memorial Day Parade shot is from May 30th, 1942 and was taken at the intersection of Millburn Avenue and Short Hills Avenue (St. Rose’s School is in the background). The rectangle shows John Thomas on the march.
