Millburn, NJ Fire Department Memorial Bell


 

The Millburn Fire Department celebrated its 125th Anniversary on April 21, 2001. From the earliest days in 1876, ten volunteers banded together to form a bucket brigade known as “Volunteer Company #1.” Today, the department protects of community of approximately 20,000 residents with 47 career and 14 volunteer firefighters out of two stations. Fire Headquarters located at 459 Essex Street is the site of the bell that was commissioned and installed as part of the 125th Anniversary Celebration in April of 2002. Cast in Italy, a local contractor installed the base and support. Millburn now has a fitting memorial to encourage department members, residents, and visitors to reflect upon those firefighters who have served the community.
